This Mei Tai are costumed to provide a safe, practical and comfortable answer to wearing babies four months and older. The baby is carried in a high sitting position, aligned with the caregiver's head, allowing a wide perspective on your daily activities.

Each carrier is designed for the caregiver's utmost comfort: double sided, padded at the head area, with wide straps in order to assure a safe and comfort wearing experience. The carriers are made from high quality, durable 100% cotton fabrics, but they need to be hand washed in cold water with very mild soap. This is because each carrier has a unique Bedouin embroidery on its front.

The rich and unique embroidery we integrate in the carriers are hand made by Bedouin women from the nomadic tribes of the Middle East and North Africa. This feminine traditional craft is used to decorate dresses and gowns for special occasions such as weddings, births and other important events; they decorate, carry a blessing or signify the status and identity of the tribe. The embroideries combined in the carriers are authentic and were not made for tourists or merchants. Many of the embroideries are over fifty years old!, they were collected and purchased from tribes all over the Middle East and the Sahara Desert, and then bought in the Old City in Jerusalem. Many of the embroideries have actually traveled hundreds of miles with the tribes before they were purchased. By integrating the traditional embroideries in our carriers, we are trying to create an aesthetic bridge between the past and the present, between the traditional roles of women in society and our contemporary interpretation of this role.

Because of their extraordinary origin, the threads and colors used for the embroideries are all natural. The threads are made of sheep, goats or camels wool; and the pigments are extracted from plants, animals, and the colorful soil of the craters area. The rich colors embroideries are carefully selected to provide a trendy look that will guaranty everyone's attention.
